Before shopping online, always double-check the quantity, because not every product can be returned. Take a look at this hilarious example involving an elderly man from China!
According to a report by China Times News Network, an elderly man from Bengbu City in Anhui Province recently enabled the "password-free payment" feature on an online shopping platform. This feature allows payment and order placement without confirming a password, which can easily become a "trap" for many seniors.
This elderly man became such an example. Due to an apparent operational mistake, he unknowingly spent 790 yuan (approximately 3,520 New Taiwan dollars) to purchase 550 chicks. It was only when the live chicks were delivered to his home that his family received 10 crates containing 550 chicks and were left stunned.
The elderly man hurriedly contacted the seller requesting a return, but the seller refused because live animals cannot be returned once sold. Being kind-hearted, the man did not want to release the chicks into the wild and felt responsible for their care. He borrowed space from relatives and built a chicken coop to take care of them.
Finally, the man's daughter reminded everyone that elderly people sometimes struggle with using smartphones and advised sellers to disable the "password-free payment" feature to prevent such mishaps from happening again.
