Heroic Pit Bull Sacrifices Life to Save Family from Cobra

According to The Times of India, a six-year-old pit bull named Bheema in India bravely fought a 12-foot-long cobra for 40 minutes to protect his family and children. The courageous canine ultimately tore the snake into 11 pieces before succumbing to his injuries.

The incident occurred at the poultry farm of Shamanth Gowda, where children and laborers were playing unaware of the danger lurking nearby. The cobra was hiding under leaves when Bheema noticed it and engaged in a fierce battle. Despite being bitten on the nose, Bheema continued fighting, determined to safeguard those around him.

This was not Bheema's first encounter with snakes; he had previously killed several poisonous snakes. His owner, Shamanth Gowda, recalled that Bheema was so strong he even kept leopards away from the plantation. After the fight, Gowda decided to bury Bheema on the farm as a tribute to his heroic actions.

Bheema's sacrifice has been widely recognized, and his story has inspired many. The dog's bravery in the face of danger serves as a testament to the loyalty and devotion of pets to their families.
