In 2009, a cat owner in the UK had a Bengal cat named Sunshine. The cat, then just six months old, slipped out of the house and was never seen again. Sixteen years later, the owner received a mysterious call stating that a cat had been found, and to his astonishment, it was indeed Sunshine. According to reports, Carl Pullen, who lived in Hertfordshire at the time, had been living with Sunshine. One day, Sunshine vanished without warning, leaving Carl to search extensively around his residence by posting numerous flyers. Despite these efforts, there was no sign of the cat.
Given that Bengal cats can be worth up to £1,700, Carl initially suspected that Sunshine might have been stolen. However, he never lost hope of being reunited with his beloved pet. The breakthrough came when a veterinarian called him with an unexpected question: whether he had ever owned a cat named Sunshine. The vet then revealed that Sunshine had been brought in as a stray.
Carl was overwhelmed with joy upon confirming that the cat was indeed his long-lost Sunshine. He expressed gratitude for never having changed his phone number over the years, which allowed him to receive the call. After a veterinary checkup, it was discovered that Sunshine's health was not optimal; she weighed only about 2 kg and had kidney issues. Estimated to be around 19 years old, Sunshine is equivalent to about 92 in human years.
Carl acknowledged that the time they have left together might be short, but he was thrilled to have Sunshine back home. He hopes to provide her with a comfortable life for her remaining years.
