Taiwan Luzhou: Dog Bites Woman, Leaves Three Large Wounds on Her Calf

Last night (22nd), a 34-year-old woman, surnamed Bao, was walking her dog on Chang'an Street in Luzhou District, New Taipei City, when a dog owned by a 40-year-old man named Huang suddenly attacked her and her pet. The attack resulted in both Bao and her dog being bitten, with Bao suffering three deep wounds on her lower leg. Fortunately, she received medical treatment and is recovering well.

Bao has filed a complaint against Huang for negligent injury. After questioning, the police referred Huang to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for legal proceedings.

This incident comes on the heels of a recent series of dog attacks in Taipei City, where a pit bull terrier attacked motorcyclists twice, causing widespread concern. In Luzhou District, a netizen shared a similar experience on the Facebook group "I am from Luzhou LoveLuzhou." The netizen reported that while out walking their dog with family, they encountered a dog tied to a motorcycle. The dog became agitated and attempted to attack as they approached. On their return, the dog broke free and attacked their pet, also biting the netizen's lower leg.

Although the dog's owner intervened, he claimed to have been bitten as well. Bao expressed her anger, stating that she would seek legal action and emphasized the importance of keeping dogs on leashes, as even well-behaved pets can become unpredictable.

According to the Luzhou police, they received a report around 9 PM on the 22nd about a pet dog dispute on Chang'an Street. Upon investigation, they found that Bao was injured by Huang's mixed-breed dog while walking her dog. Bao received medical treatment and filed a complaint against Huang for negligent injury. The police referred Huang to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for investigation.
