At the end of her life, Clementine, a stray dog, met her angel. With only 48 hours left before being euthanized, she was confined to what is colloquially known as the "death row", waiting quietly for her fate. However, a kind-hearted person saw a photo of her curled up and shivering, and decided to rescue her. That single photo unexpectedly turned her life around. A stray dog in Southern California was roaming the streets but was placed on the euthanasia list due to poor health, suffering from five severe infections and weighing only about 20 kilograms.
One of the infections Clementine had was a drug-resistant staph infection known as "canine MRSA". Despite daily medicated baths, she still emitted an unpleasant odor, and her fur was sticky. Just two days before her scheduled euthanasia, Chelsea Elizabeth Cossairt stumbled upon a photo of Clementine's anxious and shivering figure. After learning about her story, Chelsea decided to apply for adoption. The shelter was surprised to receive her application, revealing that despite hundreds of adoption inquiries over the past few weeks, none were for Clementine. Chelsea was the first and only person to successfully rescue her.
Chelsea described that when she first met Clementine, her eyes were dull and seemed to have lost all hope for life. Clementine was also fearful of humans, often trembling and hiding behind furniture or walls, refusing to make eye contact. However, seven months after being rescued, Clementine was able to gaze lovingly at Chelsea and had gained 11 kilograms, becoming a happy and overweight dog. Now, wherever Chelsea goes, Clementine follows enthusiastically, curiously exploring the world and transforming into a lively and inquisitive pet.
