While many cat adoption events focus on showcasing gentle and affectionate cats, a unique event in Japan is taking a different approach. The "Nekotama-an" cat adoption organization in Kawasaki, Tokyo, has organized an adoption fair featuring cats that are not afraid to show their feisty side. These cats are categorized based on their "spiciness" level, ranging from 1 to 5 chili peppers, depending on how much they hiss at people.
About the Event
The event, which was announced on the organization's Instagram account (@nekotamaan), offers a variety of cats with different levels of "spiciness". The categories include:
- 1 Heart: Completely adapted to humans.
- 1 Chili Pepper: Occasionally hisses but can be petted.
- 2 Chili Peppers: Constantly hisses.
- 3 Chili Peppers: Swipes but does not bite.
- 4 Chili Peppers: Swipes and bites.
- 5 Chili Peppers: Actively attacks (the "devil" level).
Despite their feisty nature, the organization explains that many of these cats have lived on the streets for a long time and may not have had much interaction with humans, leading them to hiss as a form of self-defense. However, with a warm and loving home, they could transform into gentle companions.
What to Expect
The adoption event is expected to feature around 25 cats, including a few that are completely adapted to humans and are described as "angel cats". The common thread among these cats is their need for a warm and loving home.
