Villagers in Sichuan, China, were astonished when two stolen pigs were recovered, only to find that they had gained a significant amount of weight. The pigs, which belonged to a local farm, were stolen at the end of last year. Initially, the owners feared the worst, but thanks to the police's efforts, the pigs were found alive and well.
According to reports from the Yangtze Evening News, in November 2023, a villager reported that two of their pigs had disappeared. The pigs weighed approximately 260 pounds (about 130 kg), and the owner was deeply concerned about their fate. After receiving the report, the police began investigating suspicious individuals and eventually identified two young men involved in the theft.
The men confessed that they had stolen the pigs while passing by and later took them to one of their mother-in-law's homes for care. The police tracked down the information and visited the mother-in-law's home last month, where they successfully recovered the stolen pigs. The pigs were quickly returned to their relieved owners.
Interestingly, instead of losing weight, the pigs had gained a total of 220 pounds (about 100 kg), with each pig gaining approximately 110 pounds (about 50 kg). This unexpected weight gain suggested that the pigs had been well-fed during their time away from home.
