Stray Cat "Frozen Solid on Snowy Day" Declared Dead; Veterinarian Spends 3 Hours Thawing, Miraculous Recovery Occurs

A stray cat was found frozen solid in the snow on a Pittsburgh street, seemingly lifeless. A kind-hearted woman, Margo Cicci Wisniewski, initially thought the cat had died, but she immediately contacted Animal Rescue Pet Friends for help. Carly Toth, a member of the rescue organization, responded to the call and rushed to the scene.

Miraculously, the tuxedo cat was still alive, having seemingly dragged itself to the road in a last-ditch effort to find help, as revealed by local surveillance footage. Toth admitted that in her years of animal rescue, she had never encountered a cat so close to freezing to death. The cat's body was ice-cold and stiff, and its chances of survival appeared slim.

Toth rushed the cat to the nearest veterinary hospital, hoping for a miracle. Against all odds, the veterinarian detected a faint heartbeat. The entire hospital staff and animal rescue volunteers sprang into action, working tirelessly to thaw the cat and bring it back to consciousness. After three hours of intensive care, the cat finally revived, its body temperature returning to normal.

Toth shared that the first thing the cat did upon regaining consciousness was to nod its head as if to thank everyone present. The cat was surprisingly affectionate and intelligent, showing no fear or resistance during treatment, "as if it knew that everyone there was helping it."

The tuxedo cat, now named Birthday, has made a remarkable recovery and is currently in a shelter, waiting for a loving forever home.
