Neil, a seal from Australia, has become a local favorite under the watchful protection of the government. He absolutely adores traffic cones, and it's common to see him sleeping against them. Sometimes, he even dozes off in front of people's homes.
One day, Neil decided to take a nap right in front of someone's house. One wonders what the pizza delivery person will think when they see him! Southern elephant seals in Australian waters typically gather in the sub-Antarctic islands of McDonald and Heard, but Neil, born in 2020, was born on the coast of Salem Bay in Tasmania.
Because southern elephant seals often return to their birthplace, Neil always returns to the southeastern coast of Tasmania after leaving to forage in the Southern Ocean. However, without companions in his birthplace, Neil gets bored and starts wandering around. In 2022, he appeared on a Tasmanian beach.
Since then, locals can see him strolling the streets, "eating" traffic cones, and sleeping adorably, making Neil a media darling. One day, a household ordered Pizza Hut and went to the door to pick it up, only to find Neil sound asleep in front of their house. The residents excitedly called Neil's name, and he woke up, stretched, and then lay back down for another nap. His straight sleeping posture and round belly are simply too cute!
