Hayao Miyazaki's "Totoro" is not a cat, but actually a type of animal called a "Chinchilla", which has become popular as a pet in recent years. However, due to Taiwan's climate and higher pet care requirements, they are less common there.
A Chinchilla's Adorable Moment Goes Viral
A Japanese pet owner, @popochimu_piton, posted a photo on Twitter of their Chinchilla, "Pochomu", getting an eye check-up at the hospital. The adorable expression, resembling a "depressed Pikachu", garnered over 100,000 likes from netizens. Pochomu, a six-year-old male Chinchilla, looked like it was resisting with its tiny hands while being held by the doctor, leaving both the owner and many online users in stitches.
Despite looking a bit down during the doctor's visit, Pochomu is usually full of energy and resembles a rabbit when viewed from the front. Its double chin and adorable expression, complete with small eyes and hands, are irresistible. The Chinchilla's cute face seems to say, "Are you looking for me?"
