Crossing 800km to Rescue a Stray Cat Encountered on the Road

In a heartwarming story that has gone viral on Chinese social media, a woman has been praised for her dedication to rescuing a stray kitten. The woman, known as "This Demon is Not That Demon" on Xiaohongshu, encountered a beautiful tabby stray cat while traveling in Jiangxi province.

Initially, she was hesitant to adopt the cat because she was far from her home in Shenzhen. She posted on social media to see if anyone in Jiangxi would be willing to take the kitten in. However, after receiving no responses, she couldn't bear to leave the cat behind.

Showing incredible commitment, the woman decided to forgo her high-speed rail ticket and find a way to bring the kitten back to Shenzhen. She hired a taxi for a 13-hour, 822-kilometer journey. Throughout the long ride, the three-month-old kitten remained calm and quiet in its carrier.

After arriving in Shenzhen, the woman took the kitten to a veterinarian for a check-up. The kitten was found to be healthy and well-behaved. The woman's act of kindness has resonated with many online, with users calling the kitten an "angel kitty" and praising her for her selfless decision.

Netizens have commented, "This kitten is so cute," "Giving up a high-speed rail ticket for a kitten seems like a loss at first glance, but it's worth it," and "This kitten is destined to go home with you."
