Glowing Eyes in the Pipe: Rescuing a Black Cat with a Rope

When you hear strange noises coming from the pipes, what's your first instinct? Don't worry; this isn't some eerie psychological test. Instead, it's a charming story set in the snowy landscapes of Eastern Europe. Locals discovered faint meows emanating from a frosty drainpipe. Upon closer inspection, they found themselves face to face with a pair of glowing eyes. The residents decided to lower a rope into the pipe, and something remarkable happened!

In the capital city of Kishinev (Chișinău), Moldova, during a snowy winter, residents heard "meows" coming from an outdoor drainpipe. They quickly gathered tools to remove the screws and open the pipe cover. Inside, they found a pair of animal eyes shining in the darkness, revealing a trapped cat. However, the pipe was too narrow and deep for human hands to reach, and using tools might have accidentally harmed the cat. If left unattended, the cat would have frozen in the harsh winter.

A clever resident came up with a plan. They fetched a sturdy hemp rope and inserted it into the pipe, hoping to "fish" the cat out. As they lowered the rope and made encouraging sounds, the cat was initially confused. But once the rope was pressed against the pipe wall, the cat finally extended its paws to climb up. After some effort, the agile black cat successfully grabbed the rope and climbed out of the vertical pipe. It appeared unharmed and, after shaking off the snow, quickly ran away.
