Once Ready to Give Up on Life, a Stray Dog Finally Gets Adopted: "Laughing Until Crying," Millions Feel for It

On the day of her adoption, Lakin displayed a joyful expression and eagerly cuddled with her new owner. The Humane Society of Broward County, located in Florida, is a private animal shelter that recently celebrated Lakin's adoption. This senior resident finally found her forever family after the shelter shared her story through videos. When staff held up a sign that read "I’ve been adopted," Lakin understood that she was finally chosen! With a look of "Wow, it’s my turn at last," she wagged her tail excitedly and patiently waited for the staff to open the door so she could meet her new family.

As she walked with joyful steps towards her new owners, Lakin affectionately rested her chin on her new owner's leg. She then obediently allowed her new male owner to lead her away, happily embarking on the journey home with both of her new humans.
