Jealous with the cat! Indian wife complains that her husband loves cats too much and sues her husband for abuse

The woman was dissatisfied that her husband loved the cat more than herself, so she took the case to court.

The Karnataka High Court in India recently heard a bizarre case. A woman accused her husband of "cruelty" because he was "partial" and loved the family pet cat more. The judge criticized the unreasonable lawsuit. It is simply a "waste of judicial resources."

According to ODDITYCENTRAL, the couple lives in Bangalore. The wife recently filed a lawsuit in court, complaining that her husband loved the family cat too much and completely ignored her. The complaint does not specifically mention any explicit allegations of abuse or harassment, but instead focuses on how much the husband loves and cares for the cats.

The judge in charge of the trial, M. Nagaprasanna, said that although the woman complained of "abuse" by her husband, the complaint contained almost all of the husband's "differential treatment" and did not contain any criminal offense. The woman was dissatisfied that every time she mentioned to her husband that he loved the cat too much, the two would have conflicts. She accused the cat of attacking and scratching its owner several times, but her husband did not deal with it, making her increasingly unbalanced.

Nagaprasanna said that because the complaint did not mention any typical abuse, the court decided to terminate the investigation against the husband and criticized the woman for misusing judicial resources. Nagaprasanna emphasized: "It is such frivolous cases that cause congestion in the criminal justice system. If the courts continue to investigate, it will only increase the burden on the judicial system."

This case has triggered discussions on the allocation of judicial resources in India, and also highlighted that some litigation in the country may be just private disputes and a waste of public resources. The court also once again reminded the public that legal channels should be used prudently to resolve real disputes and avoid wasting judicial resources to resolve trivial issues in personal life.
