When a human daughter falls ill and requires hospitalization, her parents naturally worry and accompany her to the doctor. Surprisingly, a similar deep bond of affection was recently witnessed among our feathered friends. A veterinary hospital in Thailand shared a touching story about a female goose that ingested something it shouldn't have, leading to a necessary surgical procedure. The goose's father also showed up at the clinic to check on his daughter.
The Panalai Veterinary Hospital (โรงพยาบาลสัตว์พนาลัย) explained on their Facebook page that the young goose had been indiscriminate in its eating habits, ultimately swallowing a piece of electrical wire. This metal wire became lodged in her stomach, necessitating surgery to remove the foreign object. To facilitate the operation, the medical team shaved a patch of feathers from the center of the goose's belly.
Fortunately, the surgery was successful. To ensure everything went smoothly during recovery, the owner brought the goose's father to the hospital as a precautionary measure. If the young goose required a blood transfusion, her father would be available to help. The owner held the father goose, who stretched his neck with concern as he watched over his daughter lying on the hospital bed.
This tender moment between the avian father and daughter was captured and shared by the veterinary clinic on Facebook, where it received over 24,000 likes from people cheering for the young goose’s recovery. Thankfully, after her stitches were removed, she showed signs of good health. The feathers around her surgical site began to regrow, and after a few days of observation in the hospital, she was able to return home and reunite joyfully with her worried father.
"Dear child, please don't be naughty and eat inappropriate things again," advised the veterinary staff to the gluttonous young goose.
