Currently serving in the South Korean military, V took to social media to express his grief and gratitude to fans for their support. In his post, he revealed that Coal had embarked on a "long journey to the puppy planet", a poignant way to describe the dog's departure.

V had rescued Coal, a stray dog, from a garbage dump in 2017. Over the years, Coal became an integral part of V's life and was often featured in his music projects and public appearances. The dog's popularity among fans was evident, as it once appeared on a music program with V and contributed to a record-breaking video titled "Puppy Shot" with over 220 million views.

In his emotional message, V confessed that he had been contemplating how to share the news with his fans, known as ARMY, but ultimately decided to express his gratitude for their love and support. He shared fond memories of Coal and requested fans to remember the dog and wish for its happiness in the afterlife. The news was met with an outpouring of condolences from fans worldwide.

As V continues his military service alongside other BTS members, anticipation builds for the group's reunion in 2025. Despite the hiatus, the bond between BTS and their fans remains strong, with V's heartfelt message serving as a testament to this enduring connection.
