Risking Expulsion, She Confesses to Her Landlord About Keeping a Cat, Leading to a Tearful Request for an Additional Clause in the Lease

Over a month ago, a woman found and secretly adopted a stray cat. Although her rented apartment did not allow pets, she decided to take the risk of being evicted and confessed to her landlord about having a cat. To her surprise, the landlord only requested an amendment to the rental agreement, which brought her to tears.

A user on Xiaohongshu, known as "B Bao", recently rescued an orange stray cat named B Bao. However, since her landlord prohibited any tenants from keeping pets, she kept it a secret for more than a month. Eventually, she realized that the landlord would find out sooner or later and mustered the courage to message him, admitting that she had taken in a stray cat. She hoped he would allow her to keep it; otherwise, she would have to face the risk of being kicked out and find another place to live.

Unexpectedly, after sending the message, the landlord did not get angry. Instead, he simply asked how long she had been caring for the cat. He then replied, "Let's add a new clause to Article 5 of the contract: 'The cat B Bao is well-behaved, and both parties agree to keep it.' How does that sound?" His warm words moved her deeply, and she couldn't help but cry, feeling grateful to have encountered such an angelic landlord.

This post went viral online, with many netizens expressing their joy that the woman found such a kind-hearted landlord. Comments included sentiments like "This grandpa is so nice; I didn't expect the reason for banning pets was not due to a dislike for animals," and "It's fortunate that the original poster didn't hide it; many landlords who dislike pet owners often do so because they don't negotiate but just keep pets secretly." Others wished for the landlord's health and happiness.
