The Impatient Shiba Inu: Understanding Commands but Unable to Resist Food

Today, I would like to share an interesting segment from a Japanese variety show. This part features a Shiba Inu from Kanagawa Prefecture, who is incredibly smart and adorable. Not only does this dog quickly learn everything its owner teaches, but it is also very affectionate. However, despite being so clever, what could possibly trouble its owner? It turns out that this Shiba Inu is "impatient," unable to resist the temptation of food.

The show in question is none other than "The Investigation Bureau of Random Matters," which addresses local issues across Japan, including the impatience of Shiba Inus in Kanagawa. The dog's owner, Ms. Kinaka, greets the filming crew with great excitement. The dog immediately rushes to the cameraman's side, even playfully biting his foot. Ms. Kinaka explains that her Shiba Inu loves the smell of socks.

According to Ms. Kinaka, her dog is very intelligent and learns commands like "stand," "lie down," and "go to your bed" quickly. However, there is one thing that training cannot overcome: the dog's inability to resist food. When attempting to feed the dog while repeatedly saying "wait," the dog understands but cannot help but inch closer until it finally gives in and starts eating. One of the crew members remarks that this truly is an "impatient dog." Ms. Kinaka agrees, noting that while her dog understands commands, its body does not always cooperate.

This segment also includes a video showcasing these amusing moments. In fact, it's not just dogs who struggle with temptation; sometimes I find myself unable to resist buying fried chicken or instant noodles when I see them on the street! So I completely understand how the dog feels.
