Akita Dog Cutout: Shiba Inu and Chihuahua Perfectly Blend In!

The Akita and Shiba Inu are often confused due to their similar appearances at first glance. However, there are significant differences in size and facial features between the two breeds. The Akita, a larger breed, typically weighs between 70 to 130 pounds and stands about 24 to 28 inches tall, while the Shiba Inu is much smaller, weighing up to 23 pounds and standing around 13 to 17 inches tall.

In Japan's Akita Prefecture, a popular tourist spot called Futatsui Roadside Station features a "dog-shaped" cutout that was installed in collaboration with the Akita Dog Protection Association in 2019. This installation has become a favorite spot for many visitors to take pictures. Recently, a Twitter user, @muuuu0531, shared photos of their Akita posing in front of this board. At first glance, it looked like an Akita with a silver ring around its body, perfectly blending with the background, making it hard to realize it was just a sign!

Upon closer inspection, one could see that the body and face belonged to two different dogs! For those who do not own an Akita, another user, @sleeping_maya, brought along a Shiba Inu that bears some resemblance to an Akita for photos. The Shiba Inu was equally adorable and blended in well with the scene. They've been capturing these moments for several years now.

Have you noticed the Chihuahua hidden within the picture? Don’t just focus on the hole on the right!

Conclusion

Both breeds have unique characteristics that make them special. Whether it's the imposing presence of an Akita or the playful nature of a Shiba Inu, they both bring joy to their owners and are cherished companions.
