Fluffy Dog's Snowy Frolic Brings Back "Snow Boots"? A Closer Look Reveals Balls of Clumped Snow!

In many countries, snowy days are rare, often only occurring in higher altitude areas. This means many house dogs don't get the chance to play in the snow. Thankfully, the internet allows us to see the joy of pets playing in the snow.

A Japanese Twitter (X) user shared a photo of their dog's snowy adventure. The white fluff on its legs isn't fur, but clumps of snow! This happens because the snow melts slightly upon contact with the dog's body heat and sticks to its fur. As the dog walks through the snow, more and more accumulates, bringing the snow home. These clumps can't be removed by hand; hot water is needed to melt them.

A year ago, after playing in the snow, the dog looked like it was wearing snow boots.

The two-year-old male dog, @moooochan_nemui, is a mix of Beagle and Bichon Frise. Despite playing, its expression doesn't quite convey happiness – perhaps it's just a natural stoic face! This is a common issue for some long-haired dogs in snowy conditions. Many users in the comments shared photos of their own dogs covered in clumps of snow, which are even more noticeable on dogs with non-white fur!
