Come with Me! Encountering a Guiding Cat in the Ruins of a Shrine—Is It a Tutorial Character from the Game?

This summer, it's time to embark on a thrilling adventure through abandoned places! Urban explorers on Twitter are sharing new discoveries every day, and this time, we have an exciting journey brought to us by a ruin photographer known as Enubi (@enuenuenubi), who has a penchant for telephone booths, vintage vending machines, shrines in ruins, and hidden train stations.

During his exploration, he encountered an orange cat that seemed to beckon him to follow. The explorer humorously described the cat as an "otherworldly guide," reminiscent of characters that provide tutorials in video games. He imagined the cat saying: "First, follow me!"

Next, they come across a collapsed torii gate. The cat effortlessly slips beneath it while the explorer cautiously navigates around. Soon after, they discover what appears to be a shrine office, complete with shimenawa (sacred rope) still hanging above.

The video begins with the cat waiting at a torii gate, checking if the explorer is following. As they pass through several torii gates, the atmosphere builds a sense of an impending adventure.

The cat's guiding ends here, leaving us curious about whether the explorer found any other incredible sights along the way.

Other users on social media shared their own experiences with guiding cats, noting that these feline companions often turn back to ensure their followers are keeping up.
