Vtuber Receives Midnight SOS from Friend About Mouse Problem, Discovers It's Actually a Hamster!

Who does this lost child belong to? Naruse Naru, a Vtuber affiliated with the Rainbow Society, has a fondness for all things cute. On February 2nd, he shared a whimsical encounter on Twitter titled "The Adventures of a Little Mouse." In his post, Naruse recounted a late-night phone call from a friend who had just moved. The conversation went as follows:

Friend: "Help me!"
Naruse: "What happened!?"
Friend: "It's my new house."
Naruse: "Okay..."
Friend: "A hamster ran out!"
Naruse: "What do you mean!?"
Friend: "I don't know!"
Naruse: "Isn't it a mouse???"
Friend: "Look!"
Naruse: "So cute!"

Along with his tweet, he attached a photo of the hamster emerging from the bathroom drain. Indeed, it looked more like a pet than a mouse. Naruse later visited his friend's home and found the hamster to be quite friendly (though covered in dust and not touched). They speculated that it might have come from a nearby room, but despite searching several places, they couldn't locate the owner. As a temporary solution, they purchased a cage for the hamster's stay.

Efforts to Find the Owner

To help find the hamster's owner, Naruse advised his friend to take several measures during their next break:

  • Photograph the chewed-up bathroom floor for evidence and contact management.
  • Post flyers in public areas as the owner might appear.
  • Visit an animal hospital for checks.
  • Cover the cage with a towel to minimize stress on the hamster, temporarily naming it Bathroom Taro.

A Supportive Friend

Naruse's friend truly stepped up during this late-night escapade! However, it was noted that the room had been vacant for over a year, leading them to wonder how the hamster ended up there in the first place.

Community Reactions

Online users chimed in with their thoughts:

  • User's Rental Listing: "Rent is 60,000 per month, 3 years old with good lighting and includes a hamster."
  • User Comment: "Maybe the hamster was surprised someone moved in too!"
  • User Experience: "Was it in the bathroom? It's common for hamsters to squeeze under bathtubs." (Editor’s note: Really?)

Future Plans

Naruse also mentioned this hamster discovery during his live stream the following night. As for what will happen next? We hope they can find Bathroom Taro a loving new owner!
