Do You Have a Cute Cat or Dog at Home?
I wonder if everyone here, especially my fellow electronics enthusiasts, has adorable cats or dogs at home? These furry companions bring great comfort and healing to our lives. Yet, their mischievous personalities combined with their innocent, harmless looks often leave their owners both amused and exasperated every day. After all, you have to admit... you can never truly scold your cute furry child.
Insights into Life with a Shiba Inu by Japanese Illustrator Ishihara Takeshi
Recently on Twitter, Japanese illustrator Ishihara Takeshi (@K5dbZRmjNe77i5r) shared his daily experiences raising a Shiba Inu. Those who have Shiba Inus know that although they are gentle in nature, they are not the easiest dogs to care for. Some even say Shibas have somewhat cat-like personalities: sometimes affectionate, other times indifferent.
Ishihara captured eight typical "Shiba Inu behaviors" in his charming illustrations, highlighting the quirks that Shiba owners will recognize all too well:
Eight Typical Shiba Inu Behaviors Illustrated
- Behavior 1: For no apparent reason, they like to step on your feet.
- Behavior 2: When you pet them, they reflexively twitch.
- Behavior 3: They love to kick sand with their hind legs (Owner's comment: "Kick again!? I'm picking up your poop here!")
- Behavior 4: They play dead on the floor and ignore you completely.
- Behavior 5: They show more enthusiasm for strangers visiting than for their owner.
- Behavior 6: They run over excitedly, but it's not because they want to be picked up.
- Behavior 7: They show zero reaction to new toys you bring home.
- Behavior 8: When left with family during outings, they come back looking like they forgot who you are.
These playful yet sometimes puzzling traits make Shiba Inus uniquely endearing but also a challenge for their owners. Ishihara's illustrations perfectly capture the bittersweet, humorous realities of living with these spirited dogs, evoking empathy and smiles from fellow Shiba lovers.
